Hi everyone! I decided to get involved with ALSF when I heard about it on Twitter. Alex's story is so unbelievably touching, and having many friends that have been affected by cancer I decided it was definitely time to do something big.
SO....
I'm going to do it. That's right, boys and girls, the hair you see in the picture right there will be gone. I have a personal fundraising goal of $40,000, and when I reach that, I will be documenting the wig search, the actual shave and the end results. I'll post the videos up on Youtube so you can all see what has been done as a result of your generosity, and most importantly, that your contributions have gone to an amazing cause. My hair will be donated to either Locks of Love or to another charity that does the same thing as Locks of Love. I'll post the name of the organization when I find out from my hairdresser!
That being said... if I raise the money super, super quickly (that's fantastic) I'll need a couple of weeks to get a wig so be patient with me! (I live in Ontario, and it gets cold up here in the winter - I need to have my head stay warm!!!)
I'm setting a target date of January 31 to reach my target so I can do the shave on February 14th. So heads up, people. I'm issuing a challenge to you all! Whatever you can contribute, whether it's $1, $10, $100 or ever $1000 - every single cent helps.
Thanks guys!
