Hello everyone, we are so excited to be walking to help raise money to fight against childhood cancer. I have been looking for a great cause I could participate in with my daughter Haley. Since being made aware of Alex’s Lemonade Stand from Peter Facinelli on Twitter and The Twilight Moms, I know we have finally found something that we can be proud to be apart of. About Alex: Alex was a brave girl that was diagnosed with childhood cancer before she was one. Against the odds and with great determination she fought to walk. After her tumors started growing again she received a stem cell transplant and informed her mother, “When I get out of the hospital I want to have a lemonade stand.” She wanted to give money to the doctors to help them find a cure. She held her firs lemonade stand and raised 2,000 dollars for “her hospital.” Alex continued to hold yearly lemonade stands in her front yard while bravely fighting her own cancer. When news spread of the courageous and remarkable sick child who was dedicated to helping other sick children people from all over the world were moved and they have help their own lemonade stands. In August of 2004 Alex passed away, at the age of 8, knowing that with the help of others she had raised over $1million to help find a cure for a disease that took her life. Help us continue her fight and raise money to one day find a cure. Please remember that no amount is too little and every dollar does count. Thank you for your support.
