FRIENDS, please join me in feeling the warmth of giving this holiday season: Donate to the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation - fighting childhood cancer, one cup at a time. Send this message to all your friends on Facebook and Twitter, bosses, co-workers and neighbors. Ask them to join the fight against childhood cancer. PLEASE help extend the lives of children so they can enjoy the holidays with their families.
In 2000, 4-year old cancer patient Alexandra "Alex" Scott had an idea - have a lemonade stand to raise money to find a cure for childhood cancer. For the next four-years, despite her deteriorating health, Alex held an annual lemonade stand. On August 1, 2004, Alex at the age of 8 lost her life to cancer. This amazing little girl raised more than $1M for childhood cancer research in her short lifetime due to nation-wide effort to find a cure. Alex’s family kept her dream alive and with the help of volunteers, this 501c3 charity raises badly-needed funds for leading hospitals and institutions across the county.
• One in 330 Americans develops cancer before age 20.
• Each day, approximately 46 children, the equivalent of two entire classrooms are diagnosed with cancer.
• Right now there are 7 children in the United States fighting for their lives that will not live to see tomorrow.
Thank you to everyone who supports this cause and shares the information with others.
