The toll of cancer is very personal to us. Luckily, we do not know children with cancer but our inspiration for getting involved comes from people that are very close to our hearts. Ambers mother has early stage Lukemia. She has suffered with this for almost three years. She found out the year Amber graduated college. Her mother battled really hard and went through a stage of remission but is now, once again fighting this horrible diese. Watching the daily struggle takes a very big toll on Amber and her family. To watch an adult who has had a decent life is one thing, but to think of a child who has not even begun to live, struggle for every day on this earth is a horrible thought. My story is a little different. Less then two years after losing the best man in my life, my father, I was told that my grandmother has bone cancer that is to far along to receive treatment and that we just had to spend the next few months watching her deteriorate and die. I can honestly say that this was some of the hardest emotions I have ever had to face. She has had a long life, but the thoughtof losing her this way is not something easy to deal with. I can not even imagine being a parent told this about your small child.
Children are very precious beings and should not have to struggle for every day that they have. This is why Amber and I are asking you to please help us raise money to go toward this wonderful cause. Alex's Lemonade takes all donations and send them directly to the hospitals and research facilities that are trying every day to help find a cure for all childhood cancers. Please join us today in helping this wonderful cause do what it does best. Helping the future of our world have a chance to live.
