ILWU Walk the Coast is Back!
The pandemic twice upended our 2020 public event fundraiser. ILWU Walk the Coast is pleased to announce that we have decided to hold a virtual drive to help fund the research that is needed to save children’s lives. This important work cannot be successful without you! Please join our 2020 on-line effort on behalf of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s fight against childhood cancer.

Since 2012, the ILWU Walk the Coast Committee has linked the International Longshore and Warehouse Union with their locals, industry employers, and the community in a collaborative effort to support families and find cures. We are consistently recognized as an ALSF “Top Fundraiser” and proud to have raised over $630,000. There is more work to be done. Childhood cancer does not take a break for pandemics.  Childhood cancer viciously strikes without regard to ethnicity or economic status.
 

Alex's Story
The history of ILWU Walk the Coast is not complete without the selfless inspiration of Alexandra "Alex" Scott. Alex’s life is the account of youth stolen by cancer.  Before her time was cut short at age 8, her selfless dedication to find cures for childhood cancer raised $1,000,000. Alex would have celebrated her 23rd birthday this year. Alex’s spirit lives through her Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.  Her vision funds cancer research and family support. Watch a video message from Alex’s mother Liz.
