Hello, My name is Erin. I am a freshman in Highschool and I want to get involved with Alex's Lemonade Stand to carry on Alex's wish, to help "her doctors" find a cure for all kids with cancer. . Last summer I was watching T.V. and a special on Alexanda Scott came on. I started watching and realized how much determination this little girl has. Her goal was to raise $1 million to donate to help find a cure for childhood cancer. This young child was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer and even though she was not healthy she wanted to fufill a simple wish; she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help "her doctors" find a cure for all kids with cancer. Sadly, Alex passed away on Aug. 1, 2004, but her wish has lived on. Now, ten years later Alex's Lemonade stand has raised over $30 million dollars to fund over 100 cutting-edge research projects, create a travel program to assist families who need to travel for treatment, and develop resources to help everyone touched by childhood cancer. Her story really made me think about how much everyone can do. She started off with a lemonade stand in her front yard and now look. I want to help her wish come true.
