This September, I will Be Bold & Go Gold during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by participating in The Million Mile. 

Cameron was just 1 when he was diagnosed with a 1 in a million childhood liver cancer. This year he will be 20 years cancer free. Those years have not always been easy. The long term side affects of the treatments will stay with him for the rest of his life and many of them are unknown.  Cameron is now a dad. Something we were unsure would ever happen. Cameron's story is not common and we hope for more kids to be able to grow up to live a life full of hopes and dreams. Without the funding of research families like ours would not have hope.

Every day, there are almost 700 new cases of childhood cancer around the world. This adds up to an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers each year.
