Competing among like minded classmates, Uniting As One is a team that refuses to settle for anything but making the biggest difference. As a team participating in Professor Gibson's Managing Diversity In The Work Place college class, we are coming together and joining with Taiwan's Dali National High School to take a stand against childhood cancer. Our class is trying to reach a goal of $5,000. As a childhood cancer survivor himself, Shawn Rhodewalt knows that is barely a drop in the bucket. Uniting As One has decided to set our own team’s goal to $5,000. We know that once you learn the facts, you too will be compelled to help Us raise at least $5,000. We greatly appreciate all donations of any size. However, if you or a business donates $20 or more they will receive the last name or business name hand drawn in Calligraphy on traditional rice paper. Everyday they are bravely standing up against all odds, proving that odds just like age, is just a number. While these brave soldiers are fighting for their lives, we as a society are just looking the other way. Pretending that by ignoring the facts, or trying to convince ourselves that child hood cancer only affects OTHER families. How much more selfish can we become that we let our future fight such a battle alone? Luckily there are the few like you in the world, that get a thrill by going against the "norm" and are not going to let our future battle alone!
