The fourth grade students are participating in a very special event this year that we know will positively impact the community and will provide your child with a lasting memory of fourth grade. On May 6th, the evening of our “Celebration of Learning”, fourth grade students will be hosting a lemonade stand and bake sale to raise money for childhood cancer. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation started when Alexandra Scott set up a front-yard lemonade stand to help raise money and fight pediatric cancer “one cup at a time”. Since then, millions of dollars have been raised for the cause. Although Alex lost her own battle with cancer in 2004, people across America have been setting up lemonade stands in her honor. As a fourth grade, we want to keep Alex’s dream of finding a cure for cancer alive.
