On September 19, 2018, I was just a mom to a beautiful 3-year old named Abby.  But on September 20, 2018, I became a cancer mom.  Abby was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  While her prognosis has always been good, having a child diagnosed with cancer alters every part of your soul.  You think differently.  You go about your life differently.  You interact with others differently.  And it doesn't have to be this way.

Every day, there are almost 700 new cases of childhood cancer around the world. This adds up to an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affecting children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research being dedicated to childhood cancers each year.  These children are our future and they deserve so much better.
