When
As all of you know, Colin was diagnosed with Ph+ ALL in October of 2018. Last year we were able to hold a lemonade stand to raise money for pediatric cancer research in honor of 1 year since his cancer diagnosis. This year we would like to use this fundraiser to celebrate the fact that he will finish chemotherapy on October 15th!!!
Although ALL is the most common form of pediatric cancer, Colin actually has a rare form called Philadelphia chromosome positive. The life saving medication Colin is on was actually available to adults for years before it was available to children. Also many of you may not realize that Colin is on a clinical trial to try to reduce the amount of chemo Ph+ ALL kids get (he was on the "lighter" treatment arm, but it's still a lot of chemo). Colin's journey through cancer is why pediatric cancer research is so needed.
Only 4% of NIH research dollars are spent on pediatric cancer research, which is why research organizations such as Alex's Lemonade Stand are so important. Support our family in the Million Mile with a donation of any amount and help move us closer to not only finding a cure for all children with cancer but towards using chemo that has less toxins side effects for our kids! Thank you for your support!
