September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and we're turning awareness into action, by joining Alex’s Lemonade Stand in The Million Mile, the largest childhood cancer awareness challenge that helps fund research for childhood cancers.

At ViaCord we’ve seen the life-saving role cord blood can play for a child with cancer in need of a transplant. Our hope is that families never have to use their banked cord blood to help treat a child’s cancer. So, join Team ViaCord and help make a difference by logging miles or donating to help move us closer to our goal of raising $10,000 (and for every mile YOU log, ViaCord will make a donation!) 
 

A little bit about childhood cancer....

• Childhood cancer is not one disease – there are more than 12 major types of pediatric cancers. ¹
• Approximately 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer before their 20th birthday. ²
• Each day, 43 kids in the U.S. are expected to be diagnosed with cancer. ³
• Globally there are more than 300,000 children diagnosed with cancer each year.¹
• Cancer remains the most common cause of death by disease for children in the United States. ¹

While survival rates for many types of childhood cancer have improved, for too many children, cancer will shorten their lives too soon. Let’s come together to help in the fight against childhood cancers.
