When
Welcome to our page! Our names are Sammy Sordi and Grace Bucklin and we are seniors at Sussex Academy. We are in the International Baccalaureate diploma program at Sussex Academy, in order to fufill our community service requirement we have started the first Lemon Club at Sussex Academy, which raises money and awareness for childhood cancer research through Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Since many of our events have been postponed or cancelled due to the pandemic, this fundraiser is even more important, so please help support us in our event! You can support us by joining our team and/or donating to our page!
This is a important cause to us since we both would like to become doctors and because Grace is a cancer suvivor for 15 years. Grace has been raising money and awareness for childhood cancer research with ALSF for 14 years now.
This September, we will Be Bold & Go Gold during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by participating in The Million Mile. Support us by joining our team or by making a donation of any amount and help move us closer to finding a cure for all children with cancer! Thank you for your support!
Every day, there are almost 700 new cases of childhood cancer around the world. This adds up to an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers each year.
Alex Scott started Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation with one front yard lemonade stand. Today, ALSF has raised more than $250 million and has funded over 1,000 research grants at nearly 150 institutions around the U.S. and Canada. It all started with one cup of lemonade. You can carry on Alex’s inspiring legacy by raising money to fight childhood cancer. Please make a donation of any amount to help more kids like Alex fight cancer.
