I'm holding a fundraiser to help Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation move one step closer to finding a cure for all children with cancer! You can join me by helping me plan this event, attending my event, or making a donation right to this page. The money you donate will pay for research to find better treatments and cures for childhood cancer. Please help kids and their families by providing desperately needed hope! Thanks for your support!
September is childhood cancer awareness month. Vanessa, Jeffrey and myself have created our own team to raise funds to support childhood cancer. On Halloween we will be doing a 5k run in honor of a little girl named Paisley Lane.
Paisley was diagnosed with cancer in October of 2018 and has proven to be a fighter! Following along on social media we are inspired not only by her, but her entire crew that has been so supportive. Her mother Kristen is a strong woman who pushes forward with positivity and is a great advocate!
Kristen was able to provide us with their experience in a briefly written note:
“Paisley Lane, my three-year old daughter was diagnosed with ALL (b-cell) leukemia on October 10, 2018. It turned our lives completely upside down as she was your typical healthy, happy little girl. We started to notice bruises and her feeling extra lethargic so, I opted to bring her to be checked out.
Simple blood work confirmed suspicions of leukemia, while a bone marrow test the following day confirmed the diagnosis. Paisley had a really rough and rocky road. She battled sepsis following her first week of diagnosis causing an emergency surgery for her port to be removed, that same day her father, my husband passed away (10.17.18). Paisley had to stay hospitalized for forty-four days following her diagnosis for treatment and cell count recovery. During that time, we were grieving our loss and putting on our bravest faces to fight this battle.
Due to extensive treatment I had to leave my job to care for her 24/7. She has been a rockstar. During the initial stay Paisley lost her hair. She was obsessed with her hair and she wouldn’t leave the house without a hair bow (her request) so I knew the loss of her hair would really affect her. Three months into treatment she had a reaction to a medicine she’s had three times prior and went into anaphylatctic shock. She spent yet another stay in the ICU.
Paisley has shown me what a true warrior is and I could not be more proud of her. We are looking forward to a brighter and healthier future!”
Today Paisley is still in active treatment until February of 2021. Her hair has grown back and her smile is larger than life!
The children who are diagnosed daily with cancer continue to need the great care they receive, treatments and much more. Donations welcome but not neccessary or if you’d like to send a photo of support with #PaisleyLane I will be sending her a slideshow!
