About Oliver Crawford
Oli was a superhero. Everything he did was in strength. He was small but so mighty, so ornery, and oh so sweet. We called him our sour patch kid. He was the only child we had to baby proof the house for but he was our most cuddly child too. He loved fiercely.
In August 2020 he was diagnosed with high risk neuroblastoma. The cancer was aggressive and spread rapidly. Only 3% of neuroblastoma will metastasize in the lungs but his did. As well as his liver and bones plus a large softball sized one in his stomach. After moving from our home in Arkansas to Cincinnati, OH to give Oli the absolute best chance of survival his condition worsened. Within a week he went from being home and ok to gone from this world. The tumor in his stomach cut off his main aorta which caused the blood to stop flowing to the lower half of his body. It wrapped around his colon, bowels, bladder, and pancreas. After 3 days of hard radiation the tumor was still growing. Oliver passed peacefully, in no pain, in the arms of his mommy and daddy. We know he is at home with Jesus now, fishing, and running, and doing all the things he couldn’t do during the last 9 months of his short life.
We cannot imagine life without our troublemaker and it still doesn’t feel real. Our family is missing a very important piece. Picturing him happy, no longer hurting or suffering is all that gives us peace now. Olibug, mommy and daddy love you more!!
