Since 2014, the Brian Morden Foundation has participated in Alex's Million Mile hoping to move us closer to finding a cure for all children with cancer! Every year an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 worldwide. That's about 700 new kids affected every day. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded. Only about 4% of our federal government's total funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers each year.

Kids with cancer don't have time to wait. Last year the world and our BMF community lost a prercious 11 year old, Kaylee Kruise. In 2017, the world lost three other amazing young girls, Maddie Shura, Emma Auker, and Kiera Chirdon. There wasn't enough research and knowledge about DIPG, brain cancer, or epithiliod sarcoma to give them a treatment that would save their lives. In 2019 we mourned the loss of another one of our BMF kids, Amelia Sharer, who was only 4 years old. 

The Brian Morden Foundation is blessed to know many of our local children battling cancer along with their families. Through our members and friends' efforts, we are able to help them in small ways. Your donations to the Brian Morden Foundation (BMF) 2020 Team of Alex's Million Mile will go to help fund research seeking lifesaving treatment through promising studies co-funded by Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and the Brian Morden Foundation. The money you give has the potential to make a huge difference for all children battling cancer.

As Brian's mom and on behalf of our local children, some of whom you may know or have met, the Brian Morden Foundation Board of Directors and I are asking you to please participate in Alex’s Million Mile project and give as you are able! The BMF is one of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s charity partners and we are delighted to lend our support to this project. We’re positive that we will again break that million mile barrier and hopefully raise more funds to expedite the research to find a cure! <3
