Over the last few years I have had the pleasure of getting to know the Colavito family- their daughter Lucy is my inspiration for running this race and raising these funds. Lucy is a pediatric cancer survivor who was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma at only 6 months old. She was in treatment through her first birthday. If you met her today you would have absolutely no idea what she and her family have been through- she is thriving and she brings us all along with her! 

I am still in awe of a video her parents, Rachel and Anthony shared with me not long after we met. Sweet baby Lucy was waking up from treatment and immediately broke into a giant smile! No fear, no tears, just pure deep-in-her-soul joy. That is Lucy (and Rachel, Anthony and Hannah!) in a nutshell.

Lucy is here with her family and friends today because of her zest for life and due to years of critical pediatric cancer research. Our entire family would be so different without her friendship and celebration mentality.
