Stand Canceled due to rain

Our Lemonade Stand yesterday at Market Days got canceled due to rain. We had a lot of much needed rain but were disappointed since yesterday was National Childhood Cancer Awareness Day.

September - National Childhood cancer Awareness Month

September 5th - Alex's Lemonade Stand at Wolf Ranch

It was a warm but cloudy day. We were having our 7th stand at the Wolf Ranch shopping center in Georgetown. Our friends and family were there to help us. We had goldd ribbons and gold balloons. Many stores had kindly given us coupons to hand out to those who bought lemonade.

Before we knew it we were selling many cups of lemonade. We had media coverage from the Austin American Statesman and KEYE news. It was nice seeing kids holding balloons, wearing gold bead chains and parents with their gold ribbons walking around sipping on their lemonade.

We made $952. Awesome!!!

Thanks to everyone who helped and to those who stopped by. Most of all, thank you to Simon Property who allowed us to have our stand there and for all the support they gave us to make the event so successful.

Alex's Lemonade Stand / Garage Sale - June 27, 2009Our day started bright and early setting up the garage sale and lemonade stand. I have to first say that we could not have done this without the help of our friends (and cousin who drove in from Dallas just to help us!) who worked tirelessly to make this happen. We had people aged 6-87 helping. It was so nice to see kids and teenagers pitch in and enjoy what they were doing. Thank you all VERY MUCH!

We had so much of stuff at the garage sale. We sold a lot of stuff. It was very hot and that helped our lemonade sales!

We first had People Magazine send a photographer to take photos of Ishani's Lemonade stand! They are running an article on Alex's Lemonade stand foundation and are taking photos of stands across the country - ours was one chosen. The photgrapher commented that our stand was the best home made stand she had ever seen - Thanks to our friend Josh for making the stand and my mom for the painting and decorations and hard work that made this stand "stand out"!

Later in the day, the Williamson county Sun came and took photographs and interviwed me. I had never done this before, so I am a little nervous about what might be written - I guess we will know soon!

We also had a lot of fun, especially the kids who loved serving the lemonade. I think we spread a lot of awareness about childhood cancer and were touched by the generosity of several people. We made almost $2500!!!

Thank you to all who donated items for the sale, helped us with the garage sale and for being there to support us. The photographer from People Magazine said she was amazed at all the support we had.

I truly believe that together we WILL make a difference.

Our next event: Alex's Lemonade Stand outside Papa John's Pizza on July 4th, 5p-10p - buy lemonade and receive a coupon for 50% off our pizza order!

Our First Lemonade StandApril 23, 2009 - Carver Elementary, Georgetown, TX

It was a beautiful sunny and warm day. Carver was having their book fair and Game night. The book "Alex's Amazing Lemonade Stand" had been read to all the classes by Mrs Vargo, the Librarian. Both Monisha and Ishani's teachers, Mrs Johnson and Mrs Giese with the help of the classroom parents organized our first ever "Ishani's Alex's Lemonade Stand".

We opened the stand at 5.30 p.m. Within minutes, we were selling lemonade and cookies and the donation box was filling up. Many came back for more! The kids seemed excited to be part of a book that had been read to them and happy to know they were helping other kids while enjoying the lemonade. We were excited to see such support from all those who stopped by.

The Stand closed at 7.30 p.m. We raised a lot more that we thought we would. Every person involved went home with an increased awareness of childhood cancer. I found out why the book called it an "amazing" lemonade stand. It was truly amazing!!

THANK YOU CARVER ELEMENTARY !! We hope this is just the beginning of Ishani's Alex's Lemonade Stands in Georgetown, TX.
