What’s better on a summer day than a refreshing cup of lemonade? Northwestern Mutual- Park Avenue is hosting their annual lemonade stands…bigger and better than ever on both the Lexington and Park Avenue sides of the 245 Park Avenue building. Everyone is invited between 11am- 3pm to enjoy a cup of lemonade, learn about the impact of childhood cancer and make a donation!

The Northwestern Mutual- Park Avenue firm, which also includes district offices in Farmingdale, LI; Norwalk, CT; and Paramus, NJ, works year round to raise funds to benefit the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. This foundation began when Alex Scott, a little girl who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma before her first birthday, was given an experimental treatment at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The minute she came out she felt better and she said, ‘This one worked. I want to have a lemonade stand.’ When asked why? she said, ‘I want to give the money to doctors so they can help other kids with tumors like mine.’

Alex was four. She made $2,000 on her first stand. By the time she was eight, her goal was a million dollars, which she got and she died two weeks later.

Northwestern Mutual- Park Avenue believes in giving all kids the chance to live life to the fullest by accelerating the search for a cure and better treatments to pediatric cancer while providing support to families battling the disease and survivors struggling with treatment late effects.
