Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in U.S. children younger than 15. Among current patients, two-thirds will have long-lasting chronic conditions related to their treatment.
According to the American Cancer Society, survival rates are “much higher” when a child’s cancer is diagnosed in its early stages.
