Join Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) for a Halloween Edition of our Virtual End Childhood Cancer 5K!

We are inviting walkers and runners from near and far to come together for another inspiring 5K (3.1 mile) that can be done from any location. With the event falling on Halloween, we are encouraging participants to dress up in their costumes for an extra fun and festive event! There will even be a Halloween costume contest where we will recognize and award the top rated costume with a special prize. More details on how to enter the contest can be found in the FAQ section.

Ghost, ghoul or goblin, all participants will receive a link to a downloadable bib that can be printed from home to sport during their 5K. You can register for free, or for $20 you can register with a limited-edition t-shirt that will be sent directly to your home.

Participants who are interested in registering with a limited-edition t-shirt have two options:

  • To receive your shirt prior to the event, you must register no later than Friday, October 2nd.
  • Anyone who registers after the deadline of Friday, October 2nd will receive their shirt 2-3 weeks after the event.

Now, more than ever, kids and families going through cancer treatment need our help. Your participation in this virtual event translates to much-needed funding to help find new and better treatments for kids fighting cancer and to support families going through childhood cancer. Every contribution, no matter how large or small, will make a difference.

On the day of the event, inspire others by sharing your photos or videos with us on social media and tag @AlexsLemonade. To celebrate our athletic accomplishments together, we also will debut a virtual program that all participants are welcome to tune into at 12:00pm EST. Stay tuned for further updates on the virtual program as we draw closer to the event!

Fundraising Tips

We’ve got some great ideas to help make your Virtual End Childhood Cancer 5K fundraising event a big success. Every dollar helps make a difference for kids with cancer!

  • Use your ALSF fundraising page: Raise funds for your event online – send the link to your friends, family, co-workers, and classmates so that they can contribute to the cause.
  • Social media: Use social media outlets like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn to spread the word about the virtual event! Tag your friends, family, co-workers, and classmates to join you. RSVP ‘Going’ on the ALSF Facebook event page and invite your friends. Join the general ALSF Facebook page and follow us on Twitter to find out up-to-date information about the latest developments with the event.
  • Accept donations by check: Make sure to tell your donors that they can donate to your Virtual End Childhood Cancer 5K Team by writing a check made payable to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. They will receive a tax receipt for their donation. Make sure they include your event ID so the donation gets credited to your page.
  • Over 21? Host a ‘virtual happy hour’ from the comfort of your own home! Recruit your friends, family, and co-workers virtually to join your team and celebrate together leading up to or after your 5K!
  • Honor a hero: Your fundraising page features an honored hero – share the story of your honored hero with your friends and family and encourage them to make a donation as a way of further honoring this young childhood cancer fighter.
  • Hold a virtual fitness class: gather a group of friends to virtually work out with you for a donation to your page. This is a great way to train for the 5K too! Public Relations/Media assistance: Fill out the Communications Assistance Questionnaire and we will assist you!
  • Matching gift programs: Often companies will match their employee’s donations to charitable causes, so a $20 donation to your event could easily become $40!
  • As always, we are here to help! Please do not hesitate to contact Sara Moyer at [email protected].

Fundraising Contest

Virtual End Childhood Cancer 5K participants are encouraged to fundraise individually or as part of a team to raise funds for childhood cancer research. Prizes will be awarded to the top three fundraising teams (see below!).
