From Hormozd:
I've been battling Ewing's sarcoma since the end of 2012. The first round claimed my left leg, hence the team name. Now, it's back. Ewing's is a rare cancer most often seen in adolescents, that usually arises in bones. It and other pediatric tumors do not get the same funding and attention that the well-known adult tumors receive.
Chemo is currently keeping things in check, but most relapses find a way to beat it in the end. My doctors have told me about new therapies that may become available to me before then, but it's a race against the clock. This is why we urgently need to raise funds for research. Development of new therapies and bringing them to the stage of clinical trials depends on funding that is often sorely lacking in childhood cancers. By raising these funds, we hope to help, if not me, future generations who have to deal with the beast that is childhood cancer.
