Thank you to all who supported one of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s most exclusive events, the 4th Annual Lemon: NYC on October 14, 2014. Held at a new location this year, Studio 450 featured magnificent views to the 120 guests in attendance whose support enabled the event to raise more than $164,000 in the fight against childhood cancer!
The event featured a new format this year as 8 renowned chefs were assigned one course to cook and serve to guests. Cocktail hour started off with delicious appetizers courtesy of Missy Robbins and Hillary Sterling of the Bedford Cheese Shop followed by a one-of-a-kind 6 course dinner thanks to chefs Michael Anthony, Alex Guarnaschelli, Jenn Louis, Nancy Oakes, Bill Telepan and Miroslav Uskokovic.
The food may have been the highlight during the dinner hour, but it was the poignant words of childhood cancer hero Tony Salerno that guests will likely remember most. Tony shared his inspirational story of fighting neuroblastoma, including lasting side effects from the toxicity of his treatment, and the importance of supporting events like Lemon: NYC that raise money for childhood cancer research. Guests responded to Tony’s incredible story by funding a research grant in his name through the Fund a Cure portion of the evening.
Lively bidding on three premium live auction items added to the fun, particularly a sought after Brooklyn Nets experience that sold for $10,000. Thank you to all guests, sponsors and chefs who made this incredible evening possible and for supporting the fight to find a cure for all children with cancer.
