Thank you to all of our supporters and sponsors who came out on a beautiful fall day for the 3rd Annual Lemon Run Philadelphia. Nearly 2,000 participants helped us to raise close to $150,000 for childhood cancer research! We were privileged to have our Hero Speaker, childhood cancer survivor Danny Hammond, relay his story of meeting Alex Scott while in treatment and tell how her legacy continues to inspire him to want to help. Danny continues to fight the “ugly beast,” as he calls his cancer, and will always inspire us to want to do more to help children and families affected by the disease.

It was a tight race to the finish and all of our teams worked hard to compete and more importantly, to make a difference in the fight to end pediatric cancer. Our top individual fundraiser Lucy Littlefield, a 2 year old cancer survivor herself, showed first-hand her determination and spirit as she acquired donations up until the fundraising deadline on the Wednesday before the race.  Donations are still coming in with each dollar contributing to finding better treatments for children with cancer.

The overall winner of the 3.1 mile race was Rich Burke with a time of 16 minutes and 45 seconds. The overall female winner was Grace Mancini, cruising across the finish line at 18 minutes and 55 seconds. For additional race results, visit www.runtheday.com.
