Thank you to everyone who attended Sweet Miami Lemonade on November 1 at Marlins Park! The sweet treat of an event benefiting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation raised more than $15,000 for pediatric cancer research looking for better treatments and cures for all children with cancer.
Offering stunning views of the Miami skyline in the background, the VIP suite level at Marlins Park provided for a perfect venue and was alit with yellow lights to create a sunny, lemonade style atmosphere. With nearly 200 people in attendance at the exclusive event, delicious cocktails and desserts from host Hedy Goldsmith’s new cookbook, “BAKING OUT LOUD,” such as candied bacon and buttered popcorn gelato kept everyone’s sweet tooth satisfied.
A fantastic silent auction helped to raise even more funds for kids with cancer and included items such as a stay at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and passes to The Food Network’s 2013 South Beach Wine & Food Festival, but the most popular item proved to be a dinner by Chef Michelle Bernstein and Hedy Goldsmith cooked for 12 guests in the winner’s home.
Liz Scott also spoke to the crowd about Alex’s life, legacy and the power for anyone to make a difference utilizing their talents to help others.
