On June 1 and 2, 2012, for the ninth year, the Midwest will join in support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and Alex’s goal of curing childhood cancer. All area Hy-Vee stores will once again welcome hundreds of volunteers to 26 locations to help raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research. Over the past nine years, the efforts of many have raised more than $600,000 toward helping find a cure! Along with Hy-Vee, 7-Up Bottling and the Kansas City Royals have also been major supporters of Midwest Lemonade Days.
Despite it being a busy time of year for baseball players, Alex Gordon, winner of the 2011 Golden Glove, donates his time each year to help spread the word of the event and ALSF’s cause. This year, ARAMARK and the Royals will contribute to ALSF by donating the proceeds from fresh squeezed lemonade stands held during all Royals home games
