Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s Hero Ambassador Program connects families with opportunities to help ALSF raise awareness and educate the community about childhood cancer. It is a great way to connect our stand hosts and supporters to the cause by giving them an opportunity to meet families who have been affected by childhood cancer.

Ambassadors have a tremendous opportunity to bring people into this cause and increase community support for research.  Nothing resonates more with the public than a personal story of childhood cancer as told by a parent or child:

“Speaking at the 2010 Lemon Run was an opportunity for me to tell my story and to spread the word that organizations like ALSF, and the people that support them, are making a difference in the battle against childhood cancer.  It was my intention to send a message of hope to anyone whose lives are being touched by childhood cancer, that positive outcomes do happen, and a return to a normal life after cancer is possible.  I was so proud to have my son, Alex, by my side as the crowd cheered when I announced he was cancer free.  That was truly the icing on the cake that made this an experience my family and I will never forget.”

If you are having an ALSF fundraising event and want to include a Hero Ambassador in your program, please email Shirley@AlexsLemonade.org with “Hero Ambassador Request” in the subject line.  Please note:

• Ambassadors primarily make the most impact when speaking and sharing their story in front of a set audience, but can speak on a one-on-one basis as well.
• They can share their personal connection to the cause, while emphasizing the need for funding research and thanking donors and volunteers for their support.
• Please ensure that the event is appropriate for having a speaker/special attendee, and that the role of the Hero Ambassador is utilized according to his/her purpose.
• Ambassadors are not available in every city & state.  If you’d like to request an Ambassador to attend your event, please provide at least 2 weeks advance notice so we will have sufficient time to coordinate.
