Hello and welcome to Aiden's Lemonade stand in honor of one of our Toddler students, Aiden Delaney! We will be hosting a lemonade stand during the week of July 28th from 3:30 to 5:30 each evening during pick-up to raise money for neuroblastoma research through the foundation "Alex's Lemonade Stand." At just 20 months old, Aiden was diagnosed with high risk, stage 3 cancer at the end of June. He is suffering from a condition called Neuroblastoma, which presented as a malignant tumor the size of a fist in his abdomen. Aiden will need to undergo over 1 year of treatment at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital, including chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, stem cell transplant, and immunotherapy. When the Delaney family informed me of Aiden's diagnosis, I was extremely eager to help their family in any way I could. I asked myself, "could I help take care of Aiden's sister Kaitlyn, could I make dinners for them," etc. I just wanted to help them in some fashion. So, we did some research on the internet on ways to help families of cancer patients and we found the foundation, "Alex's Lemonade Stand." I was immediately drawn to their message and how they use their funds to be used towards grants specifically for neuroblastoma research. If we can help find a cure for this terrible disease by raising money for this foundation, then we have succeeded in helping the Delaney family during this troubling time. Every child and parent who enters Chesterbrook Academy Lisle is considered family to me and my staff, and together I know that we can help one of our family members during their time of need. Our thoughts and prayers are with Aiden as he goes through his treatment. Thank you for your donations to Aiden’s Lemonade Stand!
