This is our 7th year at the lemon run. It’s hard to believe how fast the years have flown by us. For anyone new to our team, I’ll quickly explain that Riley was diagnosed with neuroblastoma on her 1st birthday and then it reoccurred on her 2nd birthday. I’m happy to say she’s about to turn 7 and as healthy as can be! This December should be her last scan and last visit to her oncology team at CHOP and (I’m knocking on wood, of course) if all goes well that’s it- cured and discharged from their care! Yahoo! Thank you GOD! We are so grateful for all the work that ALSF has done and will continue to do and we will always support ALSF! About a month before Alex Scott passed away, Joe and I bought a book from her. We knew before we were even married that Alex was going to hold a special place in hearts forever. I can remember that day like it was yesterday. CHOP was celebrating that Alex raised one million dollars for cancer research. We watched the celebration down in the atrium from the 4th floor windows. I think we knew that one day all of her hard work would one day save our daughter. Alex is and always will be the biggest hero I have ever met! The only reason Riley is the kid she is- healthy, cured and well is because of her idea and her parent’s efforts. We will always be grateful for an amazing little girl and her brilliant idea!
