Twilight Fandom Gives Back
The question of the day has been who is running "The Fandom Gives Back?"
The easiest answer is that it's everyone. It's the entire Twilight fandom community as a whole contributing to the amazing charity known as Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.
Check out the affiliate area. It's the blogs that support Rob, the Twilight-centric fansites and the podcasts. The fanfiction writers and the sites that house their work. Amazingly, we've got affiliates from around the world as well.
We didn't actually answer the question yet right? The ladies behind this endeavor, would be three moms. Three friends that are spread literally across the country. Three Twilight fans and three aspiring writers that have found a second family thanks to Stephenie Meyer's creation.
On Twitter we're Ninapolitan, tby789 & Lolashoes. In real life we're a teacher, a counselor and a scientist and we're all moms, wives, friends and fans.
It's that simple.
Now, we're no Peter Facinelli. But in a few days we've amassed quite the following in support of the Fandom Gives Back cause. We're determined, vocal and resourceful women. That's quite the fierce combination, ask our husbands.
Essentially we wanted to use our popularity and resources within the fandom to bring awareness to the foundation but more importantly. Donations for Alex's Lemonade because the story of Alex Scott touched us in a way that we'll never forget.
Every penny donated goes to ALSF, so even if all you can contribute is one dollar, know that it's being used towards finding a cure for cancer.
During the week of 11/15-11/20, we'll be tweeting, blogging, podcasting and auctioning for donations. Hopefully by the New Moon premiere we'll have surpassed our goal.

Hi,This was a Fandomwide fundraiser. It wasn't about any one person or group but a collective of people that share a common interest. Hence the name, The Fandom Gives Back.Affiliation requests were sent to every major Twilight site, in 15 countries. Not everyone responded. While it's unfortunate, it was fandom wide and those that wanted to participate, did. 60 other affiliates joined in the fundraiser and as a group raised a profound amount of money in the name of the Fandom.The fact that ALSF has garnered so much support only makes us happy. This wasn't a competition or a oneupmanship but a means to bring a group together and do something to say thank you to the Twilight organization.
TwilightMOMS need to be acknowledged as well
TwilightMOMs named Alex's Lemonade Stand their "charity of the month" in December 2008, and then named ALS as their "official charity" in February 2009.While I applaud "The Fandom Gives Back" for all of the fundraising & awareness that they have brought to this very worthwhile organization, I think that acknowledgements also need to include TwilightMOMS for their recognition of ALS a year ago.

Wow its amazing
