OUR FIRST CHALLENGE OF THE YEAR ~ SKIP THE COFFEE, SAVE A LIFE - In honor of Shawn who celebrates his birthday on the 18th of a certain month, we're asking each month on the 18th for you to trade your coffee for lemonade and consider donating the cost of a cup of coffee to Project Freshly Squeezed. The price for a cup of coffee nationally is $1.38... think about the lives that can be saved if enough people can skip the coffee for lemonade, one day a month! When life gives you lemons... ... one child understood the true meaning. In 2000, her courage, creativity, and compassion led to the start of a beautiful way to honor her life and the life and fight of all children with cancer. Powerless against the illness that would ultimately take her life, Alex stood up with the inspired vision to sell lemonade to raise money for pediatric cancer research.
This year, the Shawn Christian Angels step up to continue the fight for a life with Alex throughout 2011. We'll update the page throughout the year with incentives to donate, and hope to host a live lemonade stand later this year. So keep visiting, keep donating, keep squeezing lemons (and pennies)... every drop counts!
