Kick-It, a program of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), is a national volunteer-driven effort focused solely on raising money for childhood cancer research. We are passionate, efficient and committed to directing every possible dollar to research.
Kick-It was founded in Chagrin Falls, Ohio by 10-year-old Quinn Clarke during his second battle with cancer. He asked his parents if he could have a kickball game to raise money for research and was shocked when more than 500 people came to support him. That afternoon has inspired people from across the country and as far away as Hawaii and Australia to help save the lives of children with cancer.
In 2012, Ohio All-State football player, Matt Colella who battled cancer as a middle school student, started the Kick-It Champion program, by asking others to pledge a dollar amount for each point he made as his team’s kicker or to make a one-time donation towards his fundraising goal. His commitment to help others inspired his community and athletes around the country to become Kick-It Champions and Champions for Kids with Cancer.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Story
Kick-It has co-funded projects with ALSF in the past, so the partnership seemed natural given their collective goal of curing all childhood cancers. ALSF is honored that the founders of Kick-It have entrusted them to continue Quinn’s program and the amazing work they have accomplished to support childhood cancer research.
ALSF is a nonprofit dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for all kids with cancer. Started from the front yard lemonade stand of Alexandra “Alex” Scott, she raised over $1 million before she passed away in 2004. Discover more about ALSF’s mission.
