Again this September, I am participating in The Million Mike during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. And once again, retired Thoroughbred Mare Extraordinaire Battery Operated of Bergen Stables is walking in New Jersey and she may be joined by filly Chrissy, who's recovering from knee surgery. 

My goal is to walk a total of 20 miles, mostly around my town of Stoneham, MA, but I'll walk wherever I happen to be. I will be using my walker and may not walk very far at one time. But I'm determined to contribute what I can to the Million Mile and I am so very grateful for all of you who encourage me and donate!

I'm inspired by the courage and kindness of little Alex Scott, the bravery and determination of 2005 Preakness & Belmont Stakes Winner Afleet Alex, and the commitment of Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli. A HUGE thank you to Stephanie Q. for the gorgeous head shot of the incomparable Afleet Alex!
