Hi all! It’s been a while, but as the snow flies outside, my thoughts are turning to the upcoming warm weather. It’s also the time when I begin thinking about this year’s lemonade stands. For the past couple of years, we have held our stands at CFCU Community Credit Union’s annual Shred Days. They have been a great success and have raised almost a thousand dollars! My goal for this year is to hold four stands and break the one thousand dollar mark in one year. I can’t wait to see all of the smiling faces of our community and spread the word about this wonderful organization. If you have any suggestions to where we could set up a stand this summer, please feel free to let me know!

This past weekend was our first Alex’s Lemonade Stand of the year and what a success it was! As a credit union we offer our members an annual “Shred Day” so that they can dispose of old documents they’ve collected. It’s quite a popular event in our communities and we thought what better time to have a lemonade stand! We set up shop on Saturday morning and were welcomed with some beautiful July weather. As our members lined up with their documents, we were ready with lemonade to quench their thirst! Some of our volunteers brought their kids and they were a huge help pouring glasses of lemonade and, let’s face it, just being super cute! Who wouldn’t want to donate to this very special cause, especially when you have such a sweet face pouring your lemonade! This start to a summer of CFCU Community Credit Union’s Alex’s Lemonade stands was a raging success and we can’t wait for the next one! Please join us this weekend (July 19, 2014) for our second stand at our Tompkins County Shred Day located at our East Hill Plaza branch (1022 Ellis Hollow Road, Ithaca, New York) from 10am to Noon!
