About Riley Matthew Waldron
Riley was a brilliant, yet a humble young man. His talents were vast, but to name a few, he was an amazing artist, prolific writer, and an avid gamer! His love for gaming lead him on adventures to Harvard an Stanford, attending camps to create video games. His love for his family was unyielding! His love for his family an friends was always there to offer a hug, give consoling advice, an crack a joke to leave us in endless laughter! He was truly an old soul without a mean bone in his body. His eyes showed his feelings of love an hope, his smile was so infectious that it warmed your heart, an his laugh could fill the room with his overwhelming joy. His little sister an brothers were his buddies.. he gave them guidance an assurance that only he could give. As a son, he was our everything, couldn’t be prouder! He taught us how to live, how not to sweat the small stuff, how to forgive, never forget to say, “I love you”, say, “I’m sorry”, an to never give up! His unselfish loving ways always surround having , “Hope”. As he would say, “ if there’s hope , I will always have a chance!” He questioned everything because his need to know the answers. He trusted those he loved to guide an keep him safe.
The cancer Riley was diagnosed with on May 28, 2015 was battled with several major life-saving surgeries, unbearable painstaking rounds of chemo an radiation. The extremely rare form of Synovial cell Sarcoma was diagnosed in the plural lining of his lung. We were so blessed that the oncology doctors , nurses, an staff at Luries Children’s Hospital in Chicago, an Children’s Medical Center in Dallas were able to bless us with 5 1/2 more years of wonderful memories an opportunities for Riley to enjoy those things he held so dear. His legacy of true love, hope, patience , forgiveness, unselfishness, perseverance, an loyalty will forever be embedded in those who were so blessed to experience him. He will be forever honored an respected by those who were able to be a part of his life! I feel his impact was immense.. for being only 18 years old, he was truly admirable for his self-awareness, respectfulness an giving nature in comparison to those who were graced with more time. His presence was healing, his absence is heartbreaking. We will always honor an respect the young man we were so blessed by God to call our Son. We are proud of the humbling young man you were, an the lessons about true love you taught us. Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not! Our hearts will be forever broken till we join you again .. Love, Mom, Dad, Zoe, Landon an Payton.
