When
Just over a year ago my now 4-year-old Godson, Colt, was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer. If the past year has taught his family and friends anything, it's that Colt is one hell of a fighter. This little guy has gone through radiation, chemo, a surgery to remove one of his lungs, more chemo, and all of the ups and downs that accompany such a journey. And as if that wasn't enough, Colt also had to deal with the unfortunate passing of two of his beloved grandparents.
This September, as we head into what will hopefully be the last handful of chemo treatments, we are participating in the Million Mile in honor of Colt and his ongoing fight against cancer. The care and treatment he has received has been nothing short of amazing, and we hope that by raising awareness around childhood cancer we can continue to help that care and the available treatments improve.
Please show your support for Colt and help us move one step closer to finding cures for all kids with cancer by donating or joining our team.
Every day, there are almost 800 new cases of childhood cancer around the world. This adds up to an estimated 300,000 new cases of cancer that affect children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research dedicated to childhood cancers each year.
Today, the money you donate has the potential to make a huge difference in the lives of kids with cancer (and their families). Your donation will fund research into safer, more effective treatments and cures.
Thank you for your support during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!
