Fundraiser Details
When
We are just 6 days away from the beginning of September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. About 10,470 children in the United States under the age of 15 will be diagnosed with cancer in 2022. Some of these children will end up having an NTRK gene fusion, and through our promotional patient cases and patient/KOL spotlights, we’ve seen the impact VITRAKVI can have.
This year will be the 3rd year Bayer participates in The Million Mile, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s annual Childhood Cancer Awareness Month event. This event helps fund impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families, and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. The event will run the entire month of September and our goal as FUSION FIGHTERS is to raise $10,000 and log 2,500 miles!
Some highlights from the 2021 campaign included:
-Nationally, the event hosted 1,380 teams and 11,449 participants, logged nearly one million miles, and raised >$2.2M
-Our Fusion Fighters team was ranked #71 out of 1,380 teams
-Together we raised $7,370 and logged 2,161 miles
One month, one million miles, one cause: this global, virtual challenge brings together supporters to collectively run, walk and ride one million miles to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer during September, National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. In addition to the virtual fundraiser that will occur throughout the month of September, we will also have a LIVE lemonade stand in the Whippany office on 9/13 and 9/14 (more to come).
