When
This September, our team of Financial Planning Business Consultants (FPBCs) is working together to fight childhood cancer, one mile at a time. We're participating in ALSF’s The Million Mile challenge in honor of our colleague Erik's daughter, Taylor Daniels, who was diagnosed with leukemia at age 4. Taylor’s almost 2 years into treatment, and she's on track to be considered for “in remission” status in about 6 months! Help us move one step closer to finding cures for all kids with cancer by donating or matching your dollars to our miles.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) started with Alexandra “Alex” Scott and her front yard lemonade stand. Alex, at 4 years old, was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for other children with cancer. Her spirit and determination inspired others to support her cause, and when she passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million.
Every day, there are almost 800 new cases of childhood cancer around the world- that’s EVERY DAY! This adds up to an estimated 300,000 new cases of cancer that affect children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research dedicated to childhood cancers each year. Thank you for adding your support to our cause during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!
