At Northwestern Mutual we are committed to giving all kids the chance to live life to the fullest by acclerating the search for a cure.
In 2000, when she was just 4 years old, our founder, Alexandra “Alex” Scott, held a lemonade stand in her front yard, raising $2,000. Alex was battling neuroblastoma and wanted to donate the money to help doctors find cures for all children battling cancer.
Since that first stand, ALSF has funded more than 1,500 cutting-edge research projects at nearly 150 institutions in the U.S. and Canada. They focus on innovation through new, impactful projects like our Childhood Cancer Data Lab and Crazy 8 Initiative.
With the help of supporters, ALSF is propelling the world toward a future without childhood cancer. From hosting stands and events to joining the One Cup at a Time Club, everyone can make a difference and help find cures for childhood cancer.
