BAPHON is the Bay Area chapter of the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON) serving pediatric hematology and oncology nurses from the Northern California area. Our members are located from hospitals all over the Bay Area, including UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals, LPCH, and Kaiser, dedicated to promoting optimal nursing care for children and adolescents with cancer and their families.

Team BAPHON is participating in Alex's Million Mile for the **thirteenth** year to help move us closer to finding a cure for all children with cancer! You can join us or donate to our page! 

Every day, there are almost 700 new cases of childhood cancer around the world. This adds up to an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers each year.

Participate with us to make a difference in the lives of these children and their families battling cancer.  Your miles logged propel the children to fight harder.  If you're lucky enough to not be burdened with undue financial hardship this year, please consider making a donation in addition to logging your miles!
