When
Growing up, we would go to Rita's Italian Ice often and my favorite flavor was Alex's lemonade mixed in a Misti shake with vanilla ice cream. Little did I know what the foundation stood for at that time or how it would impact our future. Fast forward to today and I am grateful that Atlas is cancer free. With that being said, more research needs to be done and funding is necessary to do so. No child should have to endure Cancer. No family wakes up, thinking this could happen to their kid. Thank goodness the incredible ultrasound tech in the ER found the tumor when she did and that the hospital staff listened to us when we asked for an abdominal ultrasound. We are forever grateful to the John Hopkins All Children's St Pete. Hospital staff and continue to count our blessings daily. God bless Atlas James, and thank you for supporting such an incredible cause! #neuroblastoma
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. By the time Alex passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million. Since then, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a worldwide fundraising movement and the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the U.S. ALSF is a leader in funding pediatric research projects across the globe and providing programs to families affected by childhood cancer.
