When
Every day, there are almost 800 new cases of childhood cancer around the world. This adds up to an estimated 300,000 new cases of cancer that affect children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research dedicated to childhood cancers each year.
On February 21, 2020, our son, Will, was among the 800 children diagnosed that day. While we are lucky because he is beating it, there are millions of families (and counting) who are not as lucky.
Today, the money you donate has the potential to make a huge difference in the lives of kids with cancer (and their families). Your donation will fund research into safer, more effective treatments and cures. Recently, we found out one of the medications Will received, can increase his chances of childhood leukemia, including AML, which has a 67-68% survival rate in children. I can't imagine having to go through this all again.
