Hello everyone! I’m Frankie, an incoming freshman at BHS, a percussionist in the BHS marching band, a rower for BIR, and a proud SuperSib!

In April 2024, my sister was diagnosed with pediatric leukemia. Thanks to incredible advances in pediatric oncology and leukemia treatment, along with the incredible staff at Mary Bridge, my sister is now due to ring the bell this September! 

But without the incredible funding that goes into pediatric cancer research, none of this may have been possible.

Cancer research is hugely important. Every day, nearly 800 new cases of childhood cancer are diagnosed around the world. That adds up to an estimated 300,000 new cases of cancer affecting children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. And yet, childhood cancer remains vastly underfunded, with less than 4% of federal cancer research funding dedicated to childhood cancers each year.

That’s why I believe it is so important that we work together to raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research. This year, I’m asking for your help to raise $5,000 in collaboration with ALSF, an organization dedicated to supporting families affected by childhood cancer and funding pediatric cancer research.

$5,000 may sound like a lot, but last year, thanks to the incredible support of our community, we were able to raise over $5,500! I know we can do it again.
