This September, I’m Going Gold to support Pediatric Cancer Awareness by walking 111 miles as part of the 1 Million Mile March. I’m also raising funds for neuroblastoma research in honor of the 16th anniversary of Kasper being declared NED (No Evidence of Disease).

This year feels especially meaningful. We recently dropped Kasper off at his top-choice college, Cal Poly SLO, to begin this exciting new chapter of his life. When he was sick, we couldn’t have imagined this moment. There was a time when we weren’t even sure what the future would hold or whether he would be well enough to start preschool. Seeing him head off to college is something we are incredibly grateful for and never take for granted.

My goal this year is to raise $22,222 for neuroblastoma research. I’m walking to celebrate Kasper’s 16 years NED, honor his journey, and help give other children and families more hope for the future.

My dream is that every child diagnosed with cancer will have the opportunity to grow up, chase their dreams, and one day be dropped off at college, just as we were fortunate enough to do with Kasper.
