This September, I’m Going Gold for Pediatric Cancer Awareness and walking 111 miles as part of the 1 Million Mile March to raise money for neuroblastoma research.

Kasper was only two years old when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma in March 2010. He spent the following year going through incredibly harsh treatments. Back then, we couldn’t have imagined what the future would hold.

This year, we got to drop Kasper off at his top-choice college, Cal Poly SLO, to begin the next chapter of his life. That moment is why I’m walking again this year.

Too many children diagnosed with cancer don’t get to grow up. They don’t get to start preschool, graduate high school, go to college, chase their dreams, or discover who they’re meant to become.

My goal is to raise $22,222 for neuroblastoma research to help give more children the opportunity to grow up and experience the milestones we once weren’t sure Kasper would reach.

I’m turning the numbers into a little extra motivation:

111 miles walked + $22,222 goal + 2X match = BIG impact. 💛

From September 8–13, Volvo will double every donation, so:

$11.11 × 2 = $22.22
$22.22 × 2 = $44.44
$111 × 2 = $222
$222 × 2 = $444

The math is simple. The reason behind it is anything but.
