From December 2020-October 2021, Leanor battled Ewing Sarcoma. She was discharged from the hospital just in time to help her family and friends run a small ALSF Lemonade Stand in her honor, and she was so excited to be healthy and energetic enough to host numerous stands each year after. Hosting lemonade stands is now a regular part of our summer!
Help us reach the goal funding one whole week of research by coming to ourlemonade stands! We'll have homemade lemonade, lemon baked goods, and lemony handicrafts. We're planning on squeezing multiple events in before Leanor and Dot rush off to summer camp:
Saturday, May 31 at the West Perry Branch Library parking lot, 11a -3p (this is also summer reading program kickoff day, so there will be lots of fun stuff to do!)
Sunday, June 1 location TBD
Friday, June 6 we are leaving our stand at home and will instead be volunteering at lunch time serving lemonade at the Firebirds Wood Fired Grill Lemonade Days event
Every day, there are almost 800 new cases of childhood cancer around the world. This adds up to an estimated 300,000 new cases of cancer that affect children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research dedicated to childhood cancers each year. The money you donate will make a huge difference in the lives of kids with cancer.
