When
In honor of Lisa, I’m taking steps to fight childhood cancer — one mile at a time — by joining others in The Million Mile challenge. This initiative takes place throughout September and brings together people of all ages to walk, run, or cycle toward a collective goal of one million miles while raising critical awareness and funding for childhood cancer research.
The timing of this challenge is especially meaningful because September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Sadly, it’s been more than 15 years since Lisa was first diagnosed and the statistics have barely changed. Every day, nearly 800 children worldwide receive a cancer diagnosis and childhood cancer research remains drastically underfunded — receiving less than 4% of federal cancer research funding.
I'm committed to walking 100 miles this September as part of this challenge, and I'm asking for your support through donations to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the U.S. Every donation — whether $5 or $500 — will directly fund critical research and provide vital programs for families facing childhood cancer.
Please consider donating today in honor of Lisa. No amount is too small, and every step we take together brings us closer to better treatments and, one day, cures.
