North Penn Field Hockey is holding a Childhood Cancer Awareness Game to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and to honor the life of Maddie Carr.
Maddie and I grew up together—our families were so close that she became family to me. She was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare type of soft tissue sarcoma that develops in the skeletal muscles. Maddie was kind, caring, creative, and loving. She made huge impacts everywhere she went.
Field hockey was always something Maddie and I shared. She played the game from a young age and went on to become a member of Plymouth Whitemarsh’s varsity program. It is especially meaningful that this year’s game—North Penn vs. Plymouth Whitemarsh on September 18th—will be played in her honor.
We are proud to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a wonderful organization that funds research for childhood cancers like rhabdo. Donations made through this game will help continue the fight for kids like Maddie.
Thank you for considering a donation. Your support means so much to our team, my family, and more importantly to the Carr family, and to every child whose life is impacted by childhood cancer.
