At Core Value Insurance Group, this fundraiser is deeply personal.

Sydney Levin Giribaldi, owner of Core Value Insurance Group, first met Maddie Shaw when Maddie was just 10 years old and undergoing treatment for childhood cancer. What began during an incredibly difficult chapter of Maddie’s life grew into a bond that would last for years.

Throughout Maddie’s treatment, Sydney spent countless hours by her bedside, keeping her company through hospital stays, surgeries, treatments, and some of the hardest days imaginable. Together, they spent months at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Syracuse Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital as Maddie underwent extensive treatment.

Despite the difference in their ages, Maddie and Sydney formed a relationship that felt much more like that of sisters. They laughed together, spent long days and nights together, and created memories that Sydney continues to carry with her today.

Maddie courageously battled metastatic Ewing sarcoma for nearly six years. During her fight, she participated in clinical trials supported by Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, an organization dedicated to funding research and finding better treatments and cures for childhood cancer.

Although Maddie passed away at just 15 years old, her legacy continues to live on.

Sydney has remained close with Maddie’s parents, Kevin and Amy Shaw, and the bond created during Maddie’s journey has continued long after her passing. Maddie left an impact on Sydney and so many others that simply cannot be measured.

That is why Core Value Insurance Group is proud to host a fundraiser benefiting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.

For Sydney and the entire CVIG family, this is about more than raising money. It is about honoring Maddie and our core value of family. It is about remembering the incredible little girl who faced more in her short life than most people ever will, while still bringing love, laughter, and strength to those around her.

It is also about helping the next Maddie.

Every donation helps support research, clinical trials, and the search for better treatments for children battling cancer. Our hope is that by coming together as a company, a family, and a community, we can help give more children the opportunity to grow up and give more families the gift of time.

Maddie may no longer be here with us, but her story, her strength, and her legacy continue to make a difference.
