Lucy has been wanting to host a lemonade stand, and when she learned that she could turn that idea into a fundraiser to help kids battling cancer, she was very excited.

Last year, Lucy spent a week in the hospital when she was sick. Thankfully, her illness was very minor, but the experience gave her a small glimpse of how difficult it can be for a child to be away from home and family, undergoing tests and treatments and not feeling well. When she learned that children with cancer may spend weeks, months, or even years going through treatments and hospital stays, she loved being able to help.

Hosting an Alex’s Lemonade Stand felt like the perfect way for Lucy to take something she was already excited about and use it to make a difference for other kids and their families.
