This year for my 40th birthday I'm holding a fundraiser to help Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation move one step closer to finding a cure for all children with cancer! You can join me by helping me by making a donation right to this page. The money you donate will pay for research to find better treatments and cures for childhood cancer. Please help kids and their families by providing desperately needed hope! Thanks for your support!
Sophia’s Story
At her one-year well visit, Sophia’s unusually pale complexion prompted her pediatrician to order bloodwork. Just hours later, a phone call delivered news that would forever change our lives — the results were consistent with leukemia. A bone marrow biopsy confirmed the diagnosis, and the very next day, a port was placed, and treatment began.
Sophia spent the first 40 days in the hospital, with additional admissions lasting weeks at a time for chemotherapy and WBC recovery. She has spent over 140 nights in the hospital. She will have undergone countless pokes and port accesses, multiple bone marrow biopsies, 16 spinal taps with interthecal chemotherapy under anesthesia, and 2 months of 24/7 Blinatumomab immunotherapy through a pump carried in her backpack. Sophia is in remission and continues her maintenance phase of treatment with daily outpatient oral chemotherapy and monthly visits in the Mott Hematology/Oncology clinic through April 2027.
Despite the challenges, Sophia’s spirit has remained unbroken. Through every obstacle, she continues to embody strength, courage, and joy — our true warrior, our Little Victor.
